Mountain Springs Church Hosts Aquaponic Garden Market to Support Local Food Security Efforts

Colorado Springs, CO — On the weekend of October 4–5, 2025, Mountain Springs Church will host its monthly Aquaponic Garden Market during regular weekend services. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase freshly harvested, locally grown produce—while also supporting vital food initiatives that serve families and individuals in need throughout the region.
The market features seasonal vegetables, herbs, and leafy greens harvested directly from Mountain Springs’ on-site Aquaponic Garden, a 1,500-square-foot greenhouse powered by a sustainable 5,000-gallon aquaponic ecosystem. Established in June 2016, the garden was created to combat food insecurity and increase access to healthy produce for vulnerable members of the community.
“Every dollar raised at the market is poured back into supporting our mission to feed and serve our neighbors,” said leaders at Mountain Springs Church. “This isn’t just a garden—it’s a community outreach hub that’s changing lives every single week.”
Over 90% of the produce grown in the garden is donated weekly through partnerships with organizations like the Fresh Start Center, Eastern Plains Community Pantry, and Sarah’s Home, a ministry focused on the restoration of human trafficking survivors. In addition to its outreach impact, the garden also serves as a training site for students and interns from local schools, YWAM Emerge, and survivor support programs.
The Aquaponic Garden Market is open to everyone, and all proceeds directly fund the ongoing mission of providing fresh, healthy food to those who need it most.
