KIOXIA America, Inc. today announced the KIOXIA CM10 Series of solid-state drives (SSDs), featuring the company’s latest BiCS FLASH™ generation 10 TLC memory. Designed for demanding enterprise and AI workloads, including AI inference and Key Value (KV) cache, the new drives are designed to support the NVIDIA CMX context memory storage solution while delivering significant gains in performance, power efficiency, and cooling flexibility over the previous generation.

The KIOXIA CM10 Series is Kioxia’s first PCIe® 6.0 enterprise SSD and offers direct-cold-plate liquid cooling capability, enabling more efficient cooling deployments for next-generation AI infrastructure. Compared to the previous generation1, the KIOXIA CM10 Series delivers up to approx. 92% higher sequential read performance and up to approx. 85% higher random read performance2, helping to accelerate data-intensive AI inference and enterprise applications while improving overall system efficiency.

As AI models continue to scale toward trillions of parameters and agentic AI context windows expand to millions of tokens, the demand for high-performance KV (Key Value) cache storage is growing rapidly. The NVIDIA CMX solution extends effective GPU memory with a shared, pod-level context tier optimized for ephemeral KV cache. By leveraging ultra-fast flash storage, CMX makes enterprise SSDs an increasingly important component of AI infrastructure. The KIOXIA CM10 Series is designed to meet these evolving requirements with the performance, capacity, and endurance needed for large-scale AI deployments.

Key features of the KIOXIA CM10 Series include:

  • Available in E3.S, E1.S, and 2.5-inch form factors3, with cold-plate liquid cooling capability in E3.S and E1.S 9.5 mm form factors. (all form factors support traditional air cooled environments)

  • Capacities ranging from 1.60 TB to 61.444 (varies by form factor), with read-intensive (1 DWPD) and mixed-use (3 DWPD) endurance options5.

  • PCIe 6.0, NVMe™ 2.1, and Open Compute Project® (OCP®)6 Datacenter NVMe SSD Specification 2.7 compliant, including support for NVMe Flexible Data Placement (FDP).

  • Utilizes leading-edge KIOXIA BiCS FLASH™ generation 10 (332-layers) flash memory that improves SSD performance and power efficiency.

  • Security options include SIE, SED, SED FIPS 140-3 (planned)7,8, post-quantum cryptography, CNSA 2.0, and SPDM 1.4 attestation support.
