ZURICH, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LocalStack, the market leader in local cloud development, today announced that it has acquired WonderTwin AI, a provider of local application emulators for AI-native software development workflows including GitHub, HubSpot, PostHog, Stripe and other applications.
Building and maintaining application integrations requires testing code against live instances of third-party applications via shared sandbox environments that struggle to support the scale and concurrency of AI-native software development workflows. This bottleneck puts more pressure on the software engineering organization to ship reliable applications at the velocity that AI can achieve.
WonderTwin AI emulators simulate third-party applications on local infrastructure so each developer and AI agent can run local sandboxes to test and validate integrations without the implications of connecting to and building against live application APIs.
LocalStack’s local cloud development platform simulates the behavior of AWS and Snowflake locally so AI-native software engineering organizations can provide a faster, more secure and more effective development experience for agentic AI development workflows responsible for shipping reliable applications to the cloud.
Together, LocalStack and WonderTwin AI will provide AI-native software engineers on-demand, single-tenant sandboxes to validate the entire stack supporting cloud applications without the complexity, delays and risks associated with connecting to live third-party services intended for production workloads.
“As the way engineers build software continues to evolve, our community is discovering gaps in the stack supporting those workflows,” said Waldemar Hummer, co-founder and CTO of LocalStack. “Cloud applications rarely operate in isolation. With WonderTwin AI, we’re extending local development beyond cloud infrastructure to include the third-party APIs and external services applications depend on.”
“The SaaS application testing environment has always been limited. AI agents broke it completely,” said Tela Andrews, founder of WonderTwin AI. “Emulation was the only fix. Joining LocalStack brings full-stack emulation for applications and cloud platforms together under one roof to make concurrent, local validation seamless for any developer and any agent.”
The development experience for full-stack local software development enables engineering teams to ship more reliable applications faster, more efficiently and more securely by removing the need to connect to third-party applications and provision live cloud resources.
With WonderTwin AI and LocalStack:
- Software developers can quickly spin up local sandboxes to experiment and iterate without waiting for access to shared environments, with the benefits of instant feedback on code updates and improved visibility into failures early in the development process
- AI agents can maintain integrations and validate cloud behavior without the security and compliance risks of providing AI access to third-party applications or cloud platforms, enabling AI agents to perform validation that previously required human intervention
- CI/CD pipelines can execute faster tests by instantly testing code against local emulators for applications and cloud platforms, without the delays and costs associated with testing against actual services
